INTERVIEW

JAOC: So tell me — what is your role within the DWP?

Whistleblower: I am a DWP Investigator. I look into allegations of benefit fraud. We gather evidence, conduct interviews, and work to ensure that welfare payments are going to people who are legally entitled to them.

JAOC: How long have you been in this role?

Whistleblower: I joined the DWP in 2018, having previously worked in immigration enforcement. Experience in investigations or law enforcement is highly valued in this role, along with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data. Many people enter from the Civil Service, the police, or related fields. This allowed me to transfer my investigative skills directly into this work.

JAOC: Why did you transfer within the Civil Service? What was the reason?

Whistleblower: Ultimately it was a move into an area where I felt I could add real value. Ideally, it was about saving the country money by catching those responsible for fraud.

JAOC: There is significant public concern about fraud levels, with the Government reporting billions in overpayments each year. Is that what you see?

Whistleblower: Our investigations cover various complex scenarios, including household composition and eligibility. But specific breakdowns — particularly regarding cases linked to migration status — are not published in detail.

JAOC: Why would they not publish it in detail?

Whistleblower: Why do you think? If the public really knew the full picture, there would be a serious uprising. There is no doubt about that.

JAOC: What do you mean by that?

Whistleblower: You might think it's complex — but it is not. The single largest problem we have is Universal Credit claims. And it is completely out of control. So much so that senior management simply do NOT want the detail. Cases are being closed — but that is exactly where the problem lies.

JAOC: Please go on. Explain what you are seeing.

Whistleblower: Here is a clear example. A claimant from Somalia — with non-domiciled status — is allocated a National Insurance number and is enabled to make a full benefit claim. The information required to do this is being provided by organisations that the Government itself contracts or funds to "assist" these individuals.

JAOC: Go on.

Whistleblower: Universal Credit covers living costs — food, clothing, housing, children, childcare, disability, health conditions. These claimants are being advised how to claim EVERYTHING. They are being guided by people with inside knowledge of exactly how the system works.

JAOC: So what are you saying happens next?

Whistleblower: We investigate. We establish the facts. We stop the benefit. But by that time — the claimant ALREADY knows what will happen. And they have a plan.

JAOC: What is that plan?

Whistleblower: They simply open ANOTHER claim. Using the same details — but a DIFFERENT address. And this time? They are suddenly "married with children."

JAOC: How and why would they do that?

Whistleblower: It is very simple. They have made contacts here in the UK. They share wives' and children's details between each other to create false households. Because of course — you cannot have multiple families — but they know exactly how to play the system. And so the cycle continues.

JAOC: I thought an asylum seeker was NOT entitled to Universal Credit?

Whistleblower: That is correct — technically. But they are so deeply entrenched in our society — using relatives, landlords, specialist lawyers, and charities — that they are able to utilise identification documents without proper scrutiny. The system is OVERLOADED — and they know it. Checks are rushed. Fake IDs are everywhere. And it is ONLY when the case lands on OUR desk that we begin to discover what is really happening. My team alone — ten of us — has a backlog of 5,000 open cases.

JAOC: So why is nothing being done to reduce the backlog and fix the system?

Whistleblower: That is the simplest question of all. There is NO political will from senior management to tackle this. They turn up, they do the minimum, and they go home. The backlog grows and grows. We close ONE case — and TEN new ones are opened. Eventually — this system will implode.

JAOC: Have you any idea the scale — in monetary terms?

Whistleblower: It will be in the BILLIONS. Because the Government REFUSES to publish the true cost. You will NOT find any report breaking down fraud linked to migration — because politically — there would be absolute uproar.

JAOC: Finally — is there anything you would like to tell the public?

Whistleblower: Yes. The ONLY way you will ever make this Government stand up and act is if you STOP PAYING FOR IT. You keep paying your taxes — and they will keep spending your money because YOU are funding it.

I have had enough. Along with colleagues, I am in the process of resigning. We have seen too much. We are absolutely disgusted by the hidden agendas and the complete disregard for the British public. What we are witnessing is quite possibly the largest fraud in history.
