In a world where the Catholic Church continues to attempt to conceal the extent of child sexual abuse perpetrated by its employees, nothing is more abhorrent to ordinary members of society. These are not isolated incidents, and the significant pay-outs to victims should send shockwaves around the globe, yet they do not. Why do we permit the bastions of the Ten Commandments to preach how we should live while simultaneously abusing children, robbing them not only of their childhood but also of their lives as adults? Victims often never recover, while the employees continue to carry on there disgusting sexual desires.

According to the most recent statistics from the Vatican, there are approximately 1.406 billion Catholics around the globe.

The distribution of this population differs across continents:

  • Africa**: Approximately **281 million Catholics**, with notable populations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (55 million) and Nigeria (35 million).
  • Americas: This region is home to **47.8% of the world's Catholics**, with Brazil at the forefront, boasting **182 million
  •  Asia Comprising about **11% of the global Catholic population**, the Philippines (93 million) and India (23 million).

There is a solitary fighter, a gentleman originally from Glasgow, who is challenging the church and has gone all the way to the Vatican. I have had the privilege of meeting Rafael Viola and hearing his story, which resonates with me as a survivor of abuse in every aspect of my life. He is truly an inspiration. Please read my blog about his story, purchase his book, and follow his journey on Facebook as he takes on the Vatican single-handedly.
